Sr. Graphic & Textile Pattern Artist Job Description & Requirements
Realtree Outdoors
Position: Senior Graphic & Textile Pattern Artist
Job Location: Columbus, Georgia (Not a Remote Position)
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Vice President of Marketing
General Function:
You are creative and have a passion for design. You will work on the Marketing Team, directly under the Vice President of Marketing, and in coordination with supply chain and purchasing, to initiate all creative operations associated with pattern development, fabric merchandising, and select product development. You understand what it takes to take a concept or a vision and drive it into reality. You will create and inspire with new innovative designs that are on trend and translate to our brand DNA.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for pattern development and key activities associated with fabric merchandising.
· Help lead efforts with overall product development tied to camouflage patterns to build, and improve upon, position in existing markets, while also exploring opportunities with non-traditional categories and channels for the Realtree brand (home décor, hard goods, lifestyle apparel).
· Responsible for all creative operations including art direction, graphic design, and development of Realtree patterns and designated garments and apparel.
· Operate with the company’s goals in mind, to maintain standards of creative excellence, achieve set deadlines, and be cost effective.
· Collaborate with designers to understand the company’s creative vision and direction.
· Involved with department members to ensure creative direction and vision extends throughout all company outlets.
· Lead color palette creation and application within prints and silhouette, original print design, and technical production of artwork for all print on designated product categories, both core and outside of the Realtree demographic (swimwear, youth, etc.).
· Maintains external professional relationships to assure the ongoing availability of specialized expertise, gifted freelancers, and reputable studios/producers when their services are required. (Involved in creative soundboards)
· Help lead and generate process for addressing seasonal trends with patters and garments, vendor scorecards and reputation scores, and product development standards associated with design and print.
· Represent marketing when needed at company meetings to offer Realtree’s marketing assets to partners.
· Create pattern layouts, artwork and new color palettes.
Required Experience and Proficiencies:
· In-depth knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and original textile art development
· Work directly with vendors on design execution & final approvals
· Adobe Creative Suite: Highly proficient with Photoshop and Illustrator
· Ability to innovate and have strong sense of color
· Working knowledge of photography and photo direction as well as film and film direction
· 5+ Years’ Experience with apparel, and graphics
· Strong understanding of market trends with an ability to easily translate and adapt to brand aesthetic
· Knowledge of techniques, production and color separation
· Thrives at building relationships
· Must be able to multitask and prioritize
· Microsoft Excel
· Manage time, workload and be self-sufficient.
· Have great interpersonal and communication skills
Education:
· Degree in Design or Equivalent
Experience:
· Must have worked as a designer for 5+ years
