Retail Manager Job Description & Requirements

The Retail Manager is responsible for managing ACE Adventure Resort’s on property store “ACE Mountain Store,” as well as our off property gear shop, “ACE Adventure Gear.” which includes overseeing sales, staff and inventory. A Retail Store Manager will have the following duties and responsibilities:

· Oversee the on-site team leader at each store location.

· Seek ways to better promote the store, the product line and service within the store.

· Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking, implement purchasing plans such as an OTB plan and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.

· Implement cross-training of employees and Team Leader’s to maintain productivity at all times.

· Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.

· Ensure the stores remain clean and presentable at all times.

· Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel is on hand to provide outstanding customer service.

· Co-interview potential hourly staff with the Team Leader’s as necessary.

· Attend purchasing shows to evaluate potential new product and build connections with potential product partners.

Skills and Qualifications

· Proven experience as retail manager or in other managerial position

· Knowledge of retail management best practices

· Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

· Excellent organizing and leadership skills

· Commercial awareness

· Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles

· Excellent knowledge of retail management procedure and/or software

· Must have working knowledge of multiple adventure sports and the necessary gear. Must have experience working in outdoor retail.
