Product Developer Job Description & Requirements

Vasque, part of Red Wing Shoe Company, is looking for a Product Developer, focused on global footwear development, for our outdoor brand. This position is a great opportunity for an experienced product developer to build and expand our presence in the global marketplace. Brand website: vasque.com

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic support for the Innovation, Design, Development, and Sourcing, including all Global Manufacturing Partners- from Product Brief to Commercialization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of product development experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Qualified candidates should have prior footwear manufacturing experience; Knowledgeable in technical footwear development, including relevant experience in spec sheet construction, design translation, product and material testing, costing and advanced prototyping; Experience with pattern engineering and project management; Ability to work with multiple projects, brands, and cross functional partners in their day-to-day role; Strong communication skills with the ability to lead group discussions and milestone meetings to sufficiently influence and impact working teams; Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure timely completion with multiple deadlines; Ability to solve development problems utilizing both shoe making knowledge and project management skills.

Candidates must be able to travel internationally. Relocation to a commutable distance to our headquarter campus in Red Wing, MN is required. Relocation assistance provided by the Company. Minneapolis/St. Paul and surrounding suburbs for example, fall into commutable distance. This position is categorized as "hy-flex: with approximately 3-4 partial or full days/week in the Product Creation facility collaborating with teams in person and the other times remote, work wherever it is most productive to do best work.
