Marketing Brand Manager Job Description & Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Brand Marketing Manager is responsible for upholding the values and representation of the GSI Outdoors brand and manages the execution of marketing plans to meet future Brand expectations and targets. The Marketing Manager also takes part in the development of tactical marketing plans to ensure brand integrity across multiple channels and functions. They manage the development and execution of offline/traditional, digital, and social campaigns for the business including work with our outside agency, as well as facilitating asset production and creative design delivery as needed. This role entails the management of media campaigns across all media channels including the gathering and presenting of any campaign performance reporting. The Marketing Manager is also expected to work cross-functionally with both internal and external teams. They are responsible for ensuring a frictionless and efficient flow of communication, assets, and deliverables between key stake holders, media partners, 3rd parties, and internal teams. The Marketing Manager reports directly to the Brand Marketing Director. This position will work in tandem with various departments and maintain a flexible attitude, supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals, along with other duties as assigned. 

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

Marketing

  • Research, develop and execute overall marketing and brand strategies to drive sales growth opportunities throughout all of our channels.
  • Provide creative direction and oversight of visual and audio.
  • Provide creative direction and execute written communication and messaging assets.
  • Oversee PR, partnerships, collaboration, and influencer opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Sales on B2B and B2C sales objectives.
  • Create and manage yearly marketing calendar and promotions for both press & social media.
  • Manage all digital asset requests both internally and externally.
  • Ensure branding and brand message is consistent across all platforms.
  • Assist tradeshows
  • Identify and execute video assets to help identify brand and support sales.
  • Manage a videographer on video projects.
  • Manage photo/video shoots, logistics, and budget.
  • Manage ongoing website design, user experience, development, and functionality. Collaborate with developers and manage website projects to improve website performance.
  • Manage and execute Vender Central (Amazon) Brand pages

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing digital marketing, ecommerce, brand, content, social media, marketing, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience developing marketing plans and campaigns that focus on marketing communications, social media, content creator management, and designing marketing collateral
  • Strong project management with ability to effectively manage time, multitasking, and prioritize; operates with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize task; has a strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both upward and downward, peer and external teams
  • Being able to delegate tasks and responsibilities with individuals and follow up on deadlines with colleagues and management
  • Excellent understanding of web design and web analysis
  • Understanding of UX
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEM Rush, etc.)
  • Experience with Vendor Central and other platforms preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms, including; Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Google, and more
  • Experience in meta data, keywords, tagging standards, and SEO
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Lightroom, InDesign)
  • Experience managing and working closely with multiple support agency teams

QUALIFICATIONS PERFERED

  • Experience in the outdoor industry
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Experience with marketing automation, omni channel, and CRM tools
  • Photo and video shoot experience

SKILLS / JOB KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Organized, accurate and detailed oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Potential limited travel required
