Lift Maintenance Technician Job Description & Requirements
A Lift Maintenance technician will troubleshoot, maintain and repair ski lift equipment and other mountain attractions to ensure safe use and transportation for guests and employees. Preventive and routine maintenance is performed year-round in changing and extreme weather conditions on fixed grip, detachables and surface lifts.
Responsibilities (But Not Limited To)
-
Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, use ladders, use harnesses, and work at variable heights (up to 70 ft above ground)
-
Lift up to 60 lbs unassisted
-
Prepare and safety check lifts for daily operation before Lift Operations arrive
-
Able to complete lift start-up procedures independently
-
Ability to think critically and pay attention to detail
-
Understand maintenance recommendations of all ski lift manufactures by interpreting diagrams and manufactures’ manuals
-
Understand and follow all ANSI, State, and Federal Regulations
-
Use of considerable judgment to determine actions to be taken
-
Willing and able to participate in all maintenance needs to include other attractions such as a Mountain Coaster, Alpine Slide, and general equipment
-
Respond to calls from Lift Operations, Ski Patrol, and Dispatch as quickly as possible
-
Maintain a positive attitude consistently, including during high stress situations
-
Able to work concurrently with all Resort staff and encourage a productive work environment
-
Able to act as a Lift Operator Supervisor overseeing the safe loading, operating, and unloading of all lifts
-
Oversee and train lift operators in the safe loading, operating, and unloading of all lifts
Qualifications
-
Must be at least 18 years of age
-
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a mechanical field
-
Vocational Degree in welding, electrical, vehicle, or machine shop technology is preferred
-
Familiar with Non-Destructive Testing
-
Previous operation of heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, or farm equipment desired
-
Ability to ski or snowboard on advanced terrain
-
Valid Driver’s License is required
-
Strong work ethic and positive attitude a must
