General Manager Job Description & Requirements

Rambleraven Gear Trader is Spokane Washington’s premier outdoor retail and consignment gear shop. We opened our doors in April of 2017 and have quickly become the go-to for all things climbing, backpacking, mountaineering, skiing, snowboarding, and so much more. The General Manager position allows you the unique opportunity to work on the sales floor, in the back office, and out in our ever-evolving outdoor community.

Duties:

Train, manage, and lead a rapidly growing staff of sales associates, service techs, and floor managers

Work with store owner to assess sales, inventory needs, special events, etc.

Develop relationships with brand reps and place both preseason and ASAP orders with our vendors

Schedule clinics and staff trainings

Collaborate with associates to ensure consistent pricing, quality, and seasonal assortment for our consignment intake process

Assist with merchandising and store layout strategy

Manage seasonal inventory changeover

Oversee scheduling and logistics for both daily operations and special events

Oversee the needs of our bike and ski service department

Cover daily store duties such as customer service, consignment intake, merchandising, cleaning, and backstocking

Occasional tug of war with famous shop dog

Experience:

3+ years of outdoor retail management or leadership role

Modern POS and data entry experience

Vendor relationship and buying background

Familiarity with ski and bike components and services
