Q Proprietary Bike and Frame Market Developer Job Description & Requirements
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
The Proprietary BK/FM Market Developer plays a strategic key role growing sales in the North America by supporting the sale teams in their efforts to hit sales goals and grow the Quality Bicycle Products (Q) BKFM market in North America. This position is the main point of contact and expert for the inside and outside field staff and executes the sales plan as developed by the Global Proprietary BKFM Sales Manager. Direct contact with the sales team (both internal and external) is conducted regularly and on a proactive basis. This position conducts all training and coordinates/schedules in person visits, events and travel with reps. This person is the expert for all Proprietary BKFM. This individual is responsible for understanding the bike competitors in each territory and how to sell-in with those in mind.
The Proprietary BK/FM Market Developer is expected to identify opportunity for Q brands in their region and work with sales teams to achieve desired sales goals. Through coordinated and consistent efforts, ensures that all sales efforts are in alignment with the broad vision and specific sales, marketing, and product initiatives for Q BKFM. This position works closely with the P&A Market Developer to ensure consistency is maintained across all trainings and sales techniques.
Sales Role for Domestic and Canadian Business (25%)
- Understands the importance of a balance territory and how to advise field reps on desired retailers.
- Sets goals for the region based on overall goal stated by Q and Global Proprietary BKFM Sales Manager.
- Brings expertise and supports the sales team BKFM within specified region.
- Executes on the sales strategy set by the Global Proprietary BKFM Sales Manager.
- Maintains regular communication with P&A Market Developer and P&A and BK/FM Sales Managers.
Business Plan (10%)
- Works closely with Global Proprietary BKFM Sales Manager to develop budget for North America.
- Identifies and plans for travel that supports overall sales objectives, which would include but not limited to dealer visits, trade shows, races, and other events. Identifies the opportunities for these events and is accountable for planned outcomes.
Sales Execution (30%)
- Takes the lead on development of supporting tools, services and collateral designed to help and enhance sales.
- Presents program aspects and assure sales team alignment on brand sales objectives.
- Meets sales goals
- Continually identifies what is working, what is not working for the region and adapt as needed.
Market and Product Intelligence (5%)
- Develops a system to regularly report market intelligence to other Market Developer and Department Leadership.
Reporting, Metrics and Analysis (5%)
- Develops and maintains accurate reporting systems for sales in specific region
- Reports total sales, international sales and domestic sales to Department Leadership at the Global Proprietary BKFM Sales Manager’s request.
- Develops and maintains metrics for measuring sales results against goals and objectives.
Internal Staff Support (10%)
- Be an educational and technical expert resource for all Q sales staff, outside sales representatives and dealers
- Acts as a brand champion a is a positive force for enrolling and exciting others both inside and outside of Q. Develops and presents training in collaboration with Proprietary Training and Operations Manager.
- Coordinates sales training for inside and outside sales representatives, as well as customer service and sales support
Collaborative Responsibilities (10%)
- Collaborates, shares and has a stake in sales goals, direction, and planning with Global Proprietary BKFM Sales Manager
- Takes a proactive and process improvement oriented approach on sales department in brands, such as developing new tools, new sales approaches, etc.
- Is able to teach current processes, fluent in Q practices, and has relationships in other departments at Q.
- Continuously seeks alignment on portfolio selling and strives to ensure sales practices are collaborative with all Q owned brands
- Seen as an expert and trusted resource for creating reports and other various Q sales tools.
Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned [5%]
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- 5-7 years of bicycle or similar industry/product sales experience. Must have experiences in all phases of the sales cycle.
- Be a sales expert – anticipate customer reaction and reluctance. Know product offerings and industry in a manner that allows you to successfully work around/through resistance. Strong sales cycle skills: forecasting, customer calls, negotiating, and closing the deal.
- Must understand market and industry trends.
- Highly effective problem-solving abilities – arrives at a conclusion based on previous experiences and good judgement.
- Creativity and the ability to work with little direction is key. Demonstrated ability to be flexible, generate ideas and problem solve in real time.
- Solid positive collaboration across teams is essential to activity towards sales goals.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate professionally with customers. Effective and persuasive presentation skills that focuses on campaign delivery and addressing customer needs. Can speak with authority as needed to address customer issues.
OTHER RELATED CRITERIA
- Domestic and International Travel
o Ability to travel a minimum of 10-12 weeks a year, with at least 2-3 of these trips to international markets, which includes flying by plane and driving a motor vehicle. Must possess a valid Passport, US driver’s license and fulfill the requirements of being a Q Approved Driver
