Assistant Retail Buyer - Footwear: Job Description & Requirements
We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to oversee the product selection, ordering, inventory and pricing maintenance for our busy footwear department in our Outdoor Gear Shop. The Assistant Buyer will work closely with our current buyer and will also assist in the daily operations of our online store, as well as our busy retail space.
Responsibilities include attending trade shows, selecting, purchasing and replacing appropriate footwear for our retail space, with the guidance of our Buyer. Building purchase orders, price management and maintaining the shipment of our online store is also necessary. The position requires strong organizational skills and applicants must be detail-oriented. A general interest in outdoor gear current trends is helpful.

Position is 40 hours/wk, salary range $37,500 - $42,500 based on experience and capabilities.

Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company is New York State's largest Canoe & Kayak Dealer & Complete Adirondack Wilderness Outfitter. Our paddle sports stores carry over 1000 canoes, kayaks and whitewater boat with a complete selection of accessories. We have five locations in Old Forge and Saratoga Springs.
Our Gear & Clothing Shops carry a full line of camping gear, hiking footwear, outdoor clothing and supplies as well as quality bicycles from Giant, LIV and Growler. Winter sports enthusiasts will find a great selection of X-Country Skis, Back Country gear and Snowshoes.
The Mountainman Rental Outpost rents Canoes & Kayaks and provides shuttles to Adirondack wilderness locations throughout the Park.
