Job Summary:

In order to keep the G. Loomis brand a leading supplier in the industry in technical innovation, style, and quality of products, the G. Loomis Fly Fishing Sales Manager is responsible for the strategic management of the Fly Fishing portion of the business in the U.S. Responsible to achieve the business targets including brand awareness, sales volume, sales rep and dealer relationships, sales forecasting and strategic planning. The Fly Fishing Sales Manager provides ongoing support to fly product distribution channels. Extensive travel is required.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize all fly sales functions.
  • Develop short and mid-term strategy for the US Independent Fly Fishing dealers while taking into consideration market and consumer insight balanced against G. Loomis’ long term objectives.
  • Establish and maintain annual expense budget for fly sales operations, promotions and travel on a fiscal basis.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, accurate annual and monthly sales projection in coordination with G. Loomis’ business plan.
  • Establish an annual Fly Sales Plan (regional and national) and providing quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the Plan with sufficient methods to track, evaluate and manage all results.
  • Review and analyze sales performance against programs, goals and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Assist in yearly planning, establish fly account strategy, fly market strategy, sales goals and administrative responsibilities of outside fly sales representatives in each territory.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors.
  • Develop and maintain interactive fly sales training program for outside fly sales representatives; as well as focused activities related to sell-in and sell-through of fly fishing rods and apparel.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Design, maintain and nurture competitive sales programs based on normal criteria as per industry standards.
  • Spend a significant portion of time in the field both with individual accounts and co-traveling with sales personnel in order to develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, their staff and respective outside sales person(s) in each respective territory.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Go to Market and Supply Chain Groups in order to establish and maintain competitive pricing and distribution for all fly products.
  • Assist Marketing Department in planning, facilitating and managing fly sport show participation on both regional and national levels.
  • Assist Product Development Manager with new fly product requests; projecting expected sales volume and profit for new products.

 

Job Qualifications: 

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in account and /or territory management with diverse product offerings.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing personnel, excellence in interpersonal communication and management skills.
  • Analytical ability required to gather & summarize data for reports, find solutions to various problems, and   prioritize work. 
  • Experience working with a CRM platform.
  • Avid fly fisherman with good knowledge of fly fishing rods and techniques.
  • General knowledge of the fly fishing industry.
  • Solid experience in MS Office, retail math and in-store merchandising.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • This position is based in the territory with an extensive travel requirement.
  • Ideal candidate is located in the Pacific Northwest

 

G. Loomis’ home office is located in Woodland, WA and Shimano North America Fishing’s home office is based in Ladson, SC.

 

Education:

 

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
