Financial Controller Job Description & Requirements
Far Bank Enterprises is in search of an experienced Controller to direct our Accounting and Finance team as we continue to grow with our industry leading brands. This position presents the opportunity to lead our Financial & Data Transformation as we continue our investment in technology and talent creating a data-centric environment enabling automation, fast decision making and securing our platform for growth (built around our new ERP, Microsoft D65).
As the next Far Bank Controller, you will be a trusted and valued member of the leadership team with direct input into departmental initiatives, leadership, employees, and our most valued asset, the customer. The Controller is a ‘roll-up-your sleeves’ contributor that develops, implements, and maintains systems and SOPs to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting while overseeing the day-to-day accounting, working capital management, and month-end close activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops, mentors, and directs the accounting & finance team
· Maintains integrity of all processes that drive financial data, including general ledger, cost accounting, AP/AR, payroll, inventory reconciliation and forecasting
· Ensures the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports are timely, accurate, and in compliance with GAAP
· Partners to the CFO and works directly with CEO and Executive team ensuring continuous feedback on budgets and financial metrics
· Participates in strategic planning and direction for the company
· Continue leading technology enhancements in financial reporting with D365 and Power BI reporting for better positioning to capitalize on organic and inorganic growth.
· Working capital management – billing/accounts receivables and accounts payables processes to construct a best-in-class infrastructure (systems, people, etc.) to support the company’s growth
· Oversee preparation of departmental budgets, annual operating plan, strategic planning and key analytics
· Coordinates with manufacturing operations on costing responsibilities including annual standard cost rolls
· Standard Controller duties:
1) Leads the annual audit coordinating with external auditors
2) Manages or prepares various SALT filings in multiple states
3) Continued evaluation and identification of cost reductions and process inefficiencies
4) Ensures compliance with local/state/federal requirements, banking, vendor management, and continuous operational improvement.
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE
· BA Degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA desired
· 10+ years professional experience, including managing accounting teams
· Knowledge of local, state and federal taxation
· Exposure to cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
· Experience with Microsoft D365 (strongly preferred)
· Experience with using and implementing Power BI tools (Preferred)
· Passion for the outdoors (Preferred) + interest in fly fishing (Plus)
· Passion for data and process with strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
