Digital Content Manager Job Description & Requirements
Title: Digital Content Manager
Reports to: Marketing Director
Salary Range: $60k-$70k
Position Hours:
Full-time, salary/exempt position based in Bend, Oregon. The work requirement will be approximately 40 hours per week in a hybrid workspace. The role includes benefits specified in the offer letter and will require occasional travel.
Position Summary:
The Digital Content Manager is responsible for working with the VP, Marketing + Communications, Marketing Director, PR + Communications Manager, and Marketing Manager to assist with the day-to-day execution of Visit Bend’s marketing, advertising, and public relations programs. The Digital Content Manager is responsible for monitoring and improving brand awareness of content on digital media platforms with an inclusive lens. The Digital Content Manager will analyze current media and industry trends to develop engaging marketing techniques to increase engagement and attract Bend visitors. The Digital Content Manager is also responsible for managing Visit Bend’s relationships with key content creators. Visit Bend strongly encourages candidates to have excellent diverse and engaging communication and technical skills, especially in utilizing various software tools and applications to create the best marketing essentials.
This position entails a high level of autonomy, coordination, and organization. It requires a thorough understanding of the various disciplines of marketing, website management, public relations, and utilizing social media to promote a world-class tourism destination. This role will require ongoing communication and dialogue with stakeholders and community members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consistently and strategically manages and posts across Visit Bend’s social media channels and third-party platforms
- Serves as the point person for contract photographers and videographers
- Assists Marketing Director with web content generation and maintenance
- In charge of organization and management of Visit Bend’s digital content library, including photography, videos, and other creative assets
- Assists with Visit Bend’s influencer marketing program
- Generates monthly e-newsletters to consumers to support marketing efforts
- Furnishes general marketing support to the Marketing Director as needed
- Assists with miscellaneous design and writing projects, updating web content as needed with SEO top of mind
- Creates owned content for social and web on an as-needed basis
- Generates monthly performance reports for board meetings and other needs as requested
- Update and assist VP, Operations + Policy with CRM platform as needed
- Additional projects as assigned by the Marketing Director, VP of Marketing + Communications, and/or President/CEO
Minimum Required Skills
- High level of comfort and expertise with website content management systems, including WordPress; some HTML experience preferred
- High level of understanding and expertise with general marketing practices and strategies
- High level of comfort and expertise with all forms of digital marketing, especially social media
- Basic design skills preferred (Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; creative copywriting and editing required
- Strong organizational skills (basic understanding of project management tools)
- Proven social media management skills
- Have an inclusive, creative, and innovative approach to content creation on current and emerging digital and social platforms (including IG, TikTok, Twitter, Reddit, Pinterest, Facebook, etc.)
