Product Specialist Job Description & Requirements

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a energetic individual who is passionate about technical outdoor gear, enjoys being the go to resource for all things product related, and enthusiastic about developing and hosting trainings to join our team as our Product Specialist in the Boulder, CO office. 

The Product Specialist will act as our internal product expert who combines multiple perspectives into holistic and relatable product experience that maximizes the impact to business. This role will develop and facilitate product training to internal and external audiences that drives product understanding and product knowledge that ultimately leads to customer satisfaction and sales optimization. The Product Specialist has a keen eye for spotting market trends, an understanding of the materials and finishes that go into product design and production, and a willingness to inspire others with a passion for learning while working both independently and within a team.

The Product Specialist reports directly to the North America Marketing Director. This position will work in tandem with various departments and maintain a flexible attitude, supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals.

The ideal candidate has the following attributes:
  • 3+ years in retail, sales, or customer support related position, preferable with experience supporting technical consumer goods and has conducted product trainings
  • Capable of developing training content and ability to facilitate engaging and experiential learning programs
  • Ability to command respect of sales specialists and diverse audiences through verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail oriented
  • Ability to memorize details like product specifications.
  • Articulate and able to perform demonstrations that engage and inspire.
  • Strong ability to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate across all functions and levels of staff
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to advance diversity and inclusion within the brand.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, excellent judgement and collaboration with team.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently; strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to capture the voice of the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, specifically PowerPoint
  • Flexible and adaptable when facing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
This is a full-time office-based position (with opportunity for 1-2 remote work days per week); located in Boulder, Colorado. This position will be required to travel up to 80+ days a year and must have a valid driver’s license. 

This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision), retirement match, EAPs, paid time off, community service leave, paid holidays, gear allowance and some other great perks. The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 with the starting salary around the mid point of this range.
